Dubai is continuing its urban development with a strategic agreement to 6 billion AED<\/strong> between the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA)<\/strong> and Dubai Holding<\/strong>, aimed at improving the emirate\u2019s road infrastructure. This ambitious project aims to ease traffic congestion, optimise connectivity between different residential and commercial areas, and enhance urban mobility. Through this investment, Dubai continues to reaffirm its commitment to a modern, efficient city that is accessible to all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A major project to improve traffic flow<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The agreement between the RTA and Dubai Holding is based on a commitment to improving traffic flow in several key neighbourhoods. By optimising access points, building new bridges and widening certain roads, this plan aims to ease traffic congestion in rapidly expanding areas. The areas involved include landmark developments such as Dubai Islands, Jumeirah Village Triangle, Palm Gateway, Al Furjan, Jumeirah Park and Arjan. The aim is to improve traffic conditions by reducing congestion and making it easier for residents and visitors to get around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the key focuses of this project is the improvement of the road infrastructure in Jumeirah Village Circle<\/strong>, where grade-separated junctions will be built to improve traffic flow in and out of the neighbourhood. These improvements are expected to reduce journey times by nearly 70 %<\/strong>, ensuring smoother and safer traffic flow. Similarly, bridges will be built to improve access to Dubai Production City<\/strong>, thereby reducing road congestion and speeding up internal travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key improvements in strategic areas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Business Bay<\/strong>, one of Dubai\u2019s most dynamic business districts, will also benefit from this expansion project, with upgrades to internal roads and junctions leading to Sheikh Zayed Road. An additional pedestrian footbridge will be installed to facilitate the movement of workers and visitors, thereby ensuring safer and smoother access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Palm Jumeirah<\/strong>, one of the emirate\u2019s most prestigious neighbourhoods, six new acceleration and deceleration lanes will be installed to improve access to luxury residences and hotels. Two new footbridges will also replace at-grade crossings, thereby offering greater safety and comfort to residents and tourists. These improvements are expected to reduce 40 %<\/strong> travel time within Palm Jumeirah, thereby enhancing its appeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Road expansion will also continue in International City (Phase 3)<\/strong>, where the main entrance will be widened to improve traffic flow. A new lane will be added on Manama Street, along with improvements to the junctions, helping to reduce journey times by 15 minutes down to just 5 minutes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
