The Global Village UAE is a must-visit destination for residents and visitors to Dubai. With its diverse attractions, thrilling shows, with its irresistible food stalls and unique shopping opportunities, the park is a true melting pot of cultures and entertainment. Each season brings its own new attractions, making it essential to visit several times to fully enjoy everything the park has to offer.
Record visitor numbers and exciting new features
During the last season, Global Village UAE hosted no fewer than 10 million visitors, an impressive figure that highlights the growing appeal of this destination. This popularity is down to its unique blend of entertainment, culture and fine dining that the park has to offer.
With each new season, new attractions are introduced. Among the recent additions are the Plaza Restaurant, a space bringing together 11 restaurants spread over two floors, serving cuisine from around the world. This new food court allows visitors to sample a variety of dishes in a friendly and festive atmosphere.
Enriching cultural pavilions
New this year are four cultural pavilions representing Jordan, Iraq, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. These spaces allow visitors to discover specific aspects of the culture and crafts of these countries, turning the Global Village into a sort of mini-world tour.
As well as these new pavilions, other areas of the park have been redesigned: the Railway Market and the Floating Market now feature innovative concepts, whilst Fiesta Street has been given a new look to surprise and delight visitors.
Shopping and fine dining at the heart of the experience
Fans of shopping will be delighted by the wide variety of products on offer. The national pavilions sell clothing, accessories, perfumes, souvenirs and much more besides. It’s the perfect place to find rare and authentic items from all corners of the globe.
Side gastronomy, the Global Village leaves no one indifferent. With everything from traditional dishes to exotic flavours, there’s something to suit every taste. Whether you’re a fan of street food or prefer more elaborate meals, the choices are endless. You can sample delicious dishes whilst strolling amongst the various stalls and pavilions.
Attractions and entertainment for the whole family
For some fun away from the shopping and food tastings, head to the Carnival! With over 195 rides, games and attractions, there’s something for everyone, young and old alike. You can test your skills at the fairground games and walk away with giant soft toys, such as the famous “giant banana plushie”.
The bravest among you can head to the House of Fear, described as the region’s most terrifying haunted house, where live actors are sure to send shivers down your spine. And that’s not all: Dragon Lake is also back with a dragon twice the size of last year’s, putting on a captivating laser show.
Planning your visit
To make your journey easier, it’s worth knowing that all roads in Dubai lead to Global Village. The E311 has a dedicated exit that is clearly marked on all sat-navs. If you prefer public transport, the number 107 bus leaves from Al Nahda 1 bus station and takes you directly to Global Village.
In terms of prices, the ticket price for weekday entry is 25 Dhs per person. Please note, however, that children under three, senior citizens over 65 and people with disabilities are entitled to free entry – they simply need to collect their free tickets from the website.
Cultural diversity and nightlife
At the Global Village, the cultural trip is an immersive experience. In addition to the pavilions mentioned above, the site is also home to other fascinating destinations represented by countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Nepal. Each of these pavilions offers a complete immersion in the traditions and goods of their respective countries.
