Taxation in the UAE

The UAE has a favourable tax regime. Most individuals are exempt from income tax, and most sales, services and goods are also exempt from value added tax.

Of course, it sounds good, but almost everyone is wondering what a ‘hook’ is. Well, oil producers are taxed at 55%, and as the United Arab Emirates is very interested in oil, this generates a lot of revenue. Similarly, certain companies also have to pay high taxes.

But generally speaking, the move to the bank has paid off for the single expats who moved there for work.

Security in the United Arab Emirates

One might think that such a major tourist destination would attract a fair amount of crime; however, Dubai has a low crime rate. According to Numbeo’s online database, the crime rate is very low at 12.34. Furthermore, they rate Dubai as safe at 91%, which is very high. In fact, career criminals haven’t got very far.

Weather and climate in the United Arab Emirates

We’re sure we don’t need to mention it, but the weather and climate will suit anyone looking for sunshine and warm temperatures.

Even in winter, temperatures rarely drop below 15 degrees Celsius, and this summer’s weather is perfect for exploring or sunbathing on the beach. But, of course, no good weather is complete without a Dubai-style outdoor terrace.

Dubai’s labour market

One of the reasons for the large foreign population is that the labour market attracts many foreigners looking to relocate. Many people move to Dubai for work or business, whether in the construction, economic or financial sectors.

There are certain rules and regulations governing the legal employment of foreign nationals in Dubai, but if you’re looking for a new career or a change of direction in business, Dubai’s property market is the ideal springboard.

Leisure facilities in the United Arab Emirates

Dubai is world-famous for its focus on leisure and entertainment. Imagine a massive shopping centre with shops, restaurants and entertainment all under one roof.

The city even has its own indoor ski resort. Other family-friendly options include ice rinks, gardens, cinemas, sightseeing tours and, of course, the wonderful, pristine sandy beaches. Of course, you can always spread your wings and explore more of the United Arab Emirates.

A multicultural community and different languages

One thing every expat wants to do is settle in as quickly as possible – whether that means finding a new job or making friends. In Dubai, it is estimated that 85 % of the population are expats.

These demographic factors influence everyday life, blending each person’s culture, beliefs and preferences into a single melting pot. Whether it’s eating a different dish every evening or learning a new language, newcomers get on well with one another, make friends and settle in easily.

Tourism

Dubai’s tourism market remains very buoyant, and it seems to be growing as more and more foreigners discover it.

Furthermore, as tourism accounts for a large proportion of GDP, property buyers are confident that Dubai will continue to invest in its national and global reputation to ensure that the city maintains its leading position.
