What’s more, right at its feet, you’ll find the Dubai Mall. If you enjoy shopping and other activities, this is a place you really mustn’t miss! You’ll find all sorts of shops there selling bags that cost more than your rent. But that’s not all – there’s also a huge aquarium and an ice rink if you (or your children) fancy a bit of fun.
Alternatively, for foodies (and those who’d like to impress someone special), there are plenty of upmarket restaurants offering magnificent views of the famous dancing fountain. As you can see, they don’t do things by halves in Dubai.

As for the accommodation, it consists mainly of villas, not traditional apartment blocks. What’s more, you’ll be right by the water at all times.
Another major plus is that there’s no traffic on Palm Jumeirah. So it’s absolute peace and bliss – even more so if you’ve experienced the nightmare of Dubai’s congested roads…
What’s more, you’ll have absolutely everything you need right there (gyms, supermarkets, etc.). You’ll even have a monorail It’s really handy for getting around the island!
Finally, you’ll also find a few other rather crazy activities, such as the aquarium Lost Chambers or the water park Aquaventure. You can even swim with the dolphins! Basically, there’s no shortage of things to do in this neighbourhood – trust us.
That said, we should warn you that this isn’t the sort of place where you’ll meet loads of people. It’s actually quite quiet – perhaps even a bit too quiet at times. Al Barsha is, of course, not just a shopping centre. In fact, you’ll find giant supermarkets such as Crossroads or Lulu which will allow you to stock your fridge without breaking the bank. And as far as schools are concerned, families are clearly at an advantage, as this neighbourhood has international schools.
But that’s not all. When it comes to accommodation, the flats are often spacious and are generally located in modern blocks with a swimming pool and gym. All this for a much more reasonable price than in flashy neighbourhoods like Marina or Downtown. Basically, it’s the perfect option for those who want freedom without breaking the bank.
And finally, transport. As is often the case, you can take the underground, the bus or a taxi. You’ll want for nothing – trust us.

When it comes to accommodation, if you want to avoid rent prices that make you break out in a cold sweat, The Greens is a good place to be. The flats are modern, spacious and well-maintained, but without being over the top. And the added bonus is that most of the blocks have swimming pools and gyms (as is often the case). So yes, you won’t have a crystal chandelier in your living room, but honestly, do you really need one?
Bear in mind, The Greens isn’t exactly the liveliest part of town. So, if you like going out every night, you might find this neighbourhood a bit… sleepy. But for those looking for somewhere to really unwind after a busy day, it’s brilliant.
