Dubai is set to celebrate the arrival of 2026 with one of the most impressive festive displays in the world. True to its reputation as a city of spectacle, the emirate will roll out 48 fireworks displays spread across more than 40 iconic venues, putting on a spectacular show that can be seen across the city. From the Burj Khalifa to Palm Jumeirah, via Expo City, Dubai Festival City and Bluewaters, every neighbourhood will be taking part in this exceptional night.
This large-scale organisation enables Dubai to offer an immersive and accessible experience, preventing excessive crowding in any one area whilst ensuring a high-calibre spectacle throughout the emirate.
Iconic venues transformed into party venues
The Burj Khalifa will remain the centrepiece of the celebrations, with a show combining fireworks, lasers and synchronised light displays. Thousands of spectators are expected to gather around Downtown to witness one of the most iconic moments of New Year’s Eve worldwide.
But the experience isn’t limited to the city centre. Palm Jumeirah will provide a spectacular display visible from many hotels and private beaches. Dubai Festival City will combine fireworks with light displays projected onto the water, whilst Bluewaters and Expo City will put on modern shows in more spacious venues, ideal for families and groups.
This variety of locations means that everyone can choose the atmosphere that suits them best, whether it’s urban, seaside or more family-friendly.
A strict traffic management plan to ensure safety
To ensure public safety and keep traffic flowing smoothly, the authorities have announced several major road closures, which must be anticipated.
As soon as 4.00 pm, access to Al Asayel Road, Burj Khalifa Street and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard will be restricted.
From 8.00 pm, Al Sukook Street will be closed to traffic.
À 9.00 pm, Financial Centre Street will be closed to the public.
Finally, as soon as 11 pm, Sheikh Zayed Road will be closed at several key points.
These road closures will remain in place until the end of the festivities and until the crowds have dispersed after midnight. It is strongly recommended that you plan your journeys in advance and avoid driving in the city centre.
Enhanced transport services for a stress-free night
To make it easier to get to the venues where the celebrations are taking place, Dubai has put in place exceptional transport arrangements. The The metro will run non-stop for 43 hours, with more frequent services on the busiest routes. Some free shuttle buses will also be introduced in several key areas, accompanied by free car parks on the outskirts.
These measures are designed to encourage the use of public transport and reduce traffic congestion, whilst ensuring a smooth experience for both residents and visitors.
Practical tips for making the most of New Year’s Eve
To make the most of this XXL New Year’s Eve, it’s advisable to arrive early at your chosen venues – sometimes several hours in advance. Bringing water and wearing comfortable clothes, as well as checking traffic updates regularly, will help you avoid any unpleasant surprises.
The authorities also wish to remind everyone of the importance of following safety guidelines and the instructions given on site to ensure a peaceful evening for all.
A unique signature for Dubai
With this extraordinary event, Dubai has once again demonstrated its ability to organise world-class events. New Year’s Eve 2026 promises to be a spectacular, safe and unforgettable occasion, just like the city itself.
