The recent inaugurations of massive projects, worth several billion dollars, are set to radically transform the face of the United Arab Emirates and propel the country even further up the global tourism competitiveness rankings.

The property sector in the Emirates is booming thanks to these innovations, which include an indoor garden, the largest urban park, canals, the world’s largest wave pool, an elevated cycle path, an exceptionally long promenade through mangroves, and much more.

These projects are spread across the country, extending its coastline and incorporating vast green spaces.

These colossal projects, worth several billion dirhams, will meet the needs of a growing population and will also contribute to the long-term viability of the country’s property market. It is fair to say that Dubai’s property market is experiencing a renaissance.

Furthermore, the announcement of these multi-billion projects is reminiscent of the launch of projects such as Emirates Hills, Palm Jumeirah and others two decades ago.

United Arab Emirates: 5 Major Projects – Emaar’s Oasis

With an investment of 20 billion dollars, «The Oasis by Emaar» in’Emaar Properties will comprise more than 7,000 luxurious homes. The site is surrounded by lakes, canals and parks, covering an area of more than 100 million square feet.

This luxury development is another flagship project from the renowned property developer and is expected to enjoy similar success to that of Emirates Hills, which is highly sought-after by international millionaires.

Nearly a quarter of the total area is set aside for lakes, canals, parks, jogging tracks, green spaces, four international golf courses and other luxury amenities, offering residents a sophisticated lifestyle.

Residents will also enjoy a wide selection of restaurants, bars and shopping options, with over 1.5 million square feet of retail space.

United Arab Emirates: 5 Major Projects – Hudayriyat Island

Covering more than 51 million square metres, or 53.8% of the total area of Abu Dhabi Island, Hudayriyat Island is set to revolutionise the tourist appeal of the capital of the United Arab Emirates, particularly in terms of adventure and sporting activities.

It will feature a 220-kilometre network of cycle paths and the emirate’s largest urban park, amongst other outstanding features.

It will also feature the world’s largest and most sophisticated artificial wave facility, offering a high-performance surfing experience with the longest ride, the biggest tube and the largest artificial wave pool.

The island will be home to the largest urban park in the United Arab Emirates, covering more than 2.25 million square metres, with facilities for individual adventure and group outdoor activities.

The site will also feature a mangrove walk, an ecotourism centre, an elevated cycle path, an eco-farming area, restaurants, bars, play areas and an events valley. The island already boasts a number of facilities, such as the Bab Al Nojoum glamping complex, Marsana Beach, OCR Park, Trail X, Bike Park and 321 Sports.

United Arab Emirates: 5 Major Projects – Palm Jebel Ali

The Palm Jebel Ali project, which will be twice as big as Palm Jumeirah, has been given the go-ahead. This will undoubtedly transform Dubai’s coastline. Palm Jumeirah is so vast that it is one of the few structures visible from space.

This multi-billion-dollar development, covering 13.4 square kilometres, will include extensive green spaces and new waterfront amenities. It will extend Dubai’s coastline by 110 kilometres and will include 80 hotels, housing for 35,000 families and other facilities.

Like Palm Jumeirah, this project will be a luxury haven for millionaires and billionaires. Public buildings will use renewable energy to meet around 30% of their energy needs.

It will feature a 900-metre seaside promenade, fitness centres, swimming pools for children and adults, an indoor garden, a 4,000-square-metre park, jogging tracks, basketball courts and a children’s playground.

Its proximity to Dubai will make this new neighbourhood particularly attractive to residents and tourists, as well as to local property buyers.
