A day of celebrations across the city

The 2 December, Dubai is transformed into a huge festive stage to celebrate Eid Al Etihad, the United Arab Emirates’ National Day. With free concerts, cultural performances, family-friendly activities and fireworks displays in several neighbourhoods, the city offers a rich and varied programme that attracts thousands of residents and visitors every year.

Eid Al Etihad is not just a public holiday; it is a time of national pride and togetherness to honour the union of the seven emirates. In Dubai, the celebrations are enjoyed to the full, in a joyful atmosphere where culture, entertainment and families come together.

Concerts, shows and entertainment throughout the day

Today, the city is organising a range of activities open to everyone, with a programme designed for families, children, culture lovers and those simply looking for an enjoyable day out.

Free concerts at City Walk

City Walk is set to become one of the festival’s main hubs. Free concerts will be held there throughout the day, featuring local and regional artists. These performances, blending traditional music with modern sounds, create a warm and welcoming atmosphere in which to celebrate Emirati identity and cultural openness.

The neighbourhood, already known for its friendly atmosphere, is decked out in flags, national decorations and light displays, making City Walk the perfect place for a stroll with family or friends.

Cultural shows at Global Village

Global Village, a must-visit destination during the winter season, is offering a special programme for Eid Al Etihad.
On the menu:

  • folk performances,
  • artistic representations,
  • interactive shows,
  • on-stage performances inspired by local traditions.

Thanks to the cultural diversity of Global Village, visitors can wander from one pavilion to another whilst enjoying a patriotic show put on especially for the occasion.

Family-friendly events across the city

Shopping centres are also getting involved to celebrate this national day with activities suitable for all ages. Creative workshops, face painting in the colours of the flag, indoor concerts, children’s entertainment, themed decorations and interactive games – everything has been organised to provide opportunities for families to spend time together.

Shopping centres such as the Mall of the Emirates, the Dubai Mall, Mirdif City Centre and Ibn Battuta are transformed into veritable party venues and attract large numbers of visitors looking to enjoy a lively day out.

Creative workshops across Dubai

One of the highlights of this year’s event is the wide range of creative workshops being held in libraries, cultural centres, cafés and even some public parks.

These include, in particular:

  • an introduction to Arabic calligraphy,
  • manufacture of flags and national decorations,
  • painting workshops for children,
  • the creation of traditional accessories,
  • craft activities based on the symbols of the Emirates.

These workshops enable children to discover the country’s history in a fun way, whilst involving families in artistic and educational activities.

The fireworks display, the highlight of the evening

As is the case every year, the fireworks will bring the day to a close with a much-anticipated light show.

Three main areas will host spectacular shows.

Global Village

The fireworks will be set off on 1, 2 and 3 December at 9.00 pm.
The vast, open site offers an unobstructed view that is perfect for watching the fireworks displays.

City Mall Festival

The 2 December, a special fireworks display will take place between 8.30 pm and 9 pm.
Alongside the famous IMAGINE water show, this spectacle combines lasers, fountains and the national colours.

JBR and Bluewaters

That same evening at 9.00 pm, the skies above JBR and Bluewaters will light up.
With the sea, the beach and the restaurants lining the promenade, it is one of the most popular places to celebrate Eid Al Etihad.

The fireworks display attracts tens of thousands of people every year, so it’s a good idea to arrive early to get the best views.

A celebration that brings people together and puts the town in the spotlight

Eid Al Etihad is more than just a festival; it is a symbol of unity, vision and progress. In Dubai, this day perfectly embodies the spirit of the country, blending modernity with tradition.

The festivities on offer today embody this identity: artistic performances, free events open to all, activities for children and some of the world’s most impressive fireworks displays.

It’s the perfect opportunity to get out and about, go for a stroll and soak up the unique festive atmosphere that lights up the whole city.

Conclusion: a day to be enjoyed to the full

With its concerts, cultural performances, creative workshops and fireworks, Dubai offers a comprehensive and immersive celebration of Eid Al Etihad.

Whether you’re with family, friends or visiting the emirate, 2 December promises to be a day packed with activities and an unforgettable experience. A celebration that pays tribute both to the country’s history and its remarkable vitality today.
